I begin any project with research, this is vital step in the road ahead. Along with the brief this helps me keep a clear vision of the final piece.
Next I put pencil to paper and develop a range of ideas, I sketch some rough but well thought out approaches to the brief.
When we have settled on a concept I begin building the vector assets. This is when the real character and personality starts to shine through.
When you're 100% happy with the design and everything that goes with it, I save everything down in a range of formats/colour styles/layouts.
I use my years of experience as an illustrator and designer to create beautiful logo designs, icons and illustrations that are crafted with love and passion. I strive to convey every message in the perfect manor, everything is designed with scalability and design principles in mind but in a way that still oozes character. I supply all high res vector files to you along with further advice on your project, if you need it.
I begin all projects by sending over a set of questions about your needs from which I build a brief. I enjoy having a quick chat via skype to get an idea of your direction and to make some notes. I require you sign a simple, easy to read contract that states the amount of work, how much you'll pay etc. I require a 50% deposit before work begins, I also won't be able to hand over the final files at the end of the project until the final invoice is paid, I am however happy to send some low res images for presentations etc.
I ask that clients leave as much time as possible for each project. I don't like to work on really tight deadlines, as you can imagine it's not a very enjoyable process for either party if everything has to be rushed. I have been known to turn around projects within a few days but for this I charge extra for having to work through the night. Each project varies but drop me a line and don't forget to include your deadline, I'll let you know how long it'll take.
Each project is different so I couldn't give an exact price list but please try to keep this wonderful tale in mind when budgeting for creative work.
Legend has it that Pablo Picasso was sketching in the park when a bold woman approached him “It’s you — Picasso, the great artist! Oh, you must sketch my portrait! I insist.” So Picasso agreed to sketch her. After studying her for a moment, he used a single pencil stroke to create her portrait. He handed the women his work of art.
“It’s perfect!” she gushed. “You managed to capture my essence with one stroke, in one moment. Thank you! How much do I owe you?”
“Five thousand dollars,” the artist replied.
“But, what?” the woman sputtered. “How could you want so much money for this picture? It only took you a second to draw it!”
To which Picasso responded, “Madame, it took me my entire life.”
